Amy "The Croatian Sensation" Zaninovich - Current 12U Boys Head Coach

​

Amy first began playing water polo in the 6th grade after swimming competitively for four years. Her club career includes Clovis Water Polo Club (2013-15), Royal Water Polo Academy (2016), and Praetorian Water Polo Club (2017-18). Her alma mater is Clovis North High School where she spent four seasons on the varsity team. Senior year she led the team to their first league (TRAC) championship along with leading the team in goals. She also competed for her high school’s swim team where she competed on varsity for three seasons.

 

After finishing her high school water polo career, Amy decided to continue playing at the collegiate level. Having a breakout season her freshman year at Fresno Pacific University, she earned WWPA All-Freshman Team honor, WWPA All-Academic team, and racked up 75 points (second most on the team). She also helped lead the team to their first appearance in the championship game at the WWPA Championships earning a runner-up title for the first time in

program history. Sophomore year, she was honored with WWPA 2nd team All-Conference honors, was named an NCAA DII All-American, and had the second most points on the team.

Amy began coaching in 2018 as the head coach of the 14U boys Praetorian WPC team. She also shares her passion for aquatics sports and was a swim instructor for Praetorian Swim Lessons from 2018-2019. Currently Amy is the varsity assistant coach at Sanger High School and she is the head 12U boys coach.
