Rick Eoff - 16U Boys Head Coach

Rick has been involved in water polo as an athlete since 1980. He graduated from Santa Teresa High School in San Jose, CA in 1984 where he was a 3-sport athlete (Football, Water Polo, Swimming). He continued playing water polo and swimming at West Valley Junior College in Saratoga, CA. making the Dean’s List for both years. Rick continued playing water polo and swimming at Fresno State University, where he earned the Scholar Athlete Award in 1988 and made the Dean’s List for 1988 – 1990.
Upon graduating from Fresno State, Rick furthered his playing career, playing for the Balmain Tigers Water Polo Club in Sydney, Australia 1990 – 1991. At age 57, Rick continues to play water polo every spring for the Central Valley Men’s Masters Team.
Rick began coaching water polo at Fresno High School in 1993 till 1999. Rick moved his coaching and teaching career to Sunnyside High School for the next 14 years till 2013. Rick currently teaches physical education and coaches at Clark Intermediate. Throughout is 30-year coaching career, Rick has been awarded
numerous coaching awards such as: North Yosemite League Boy’s Coach of the Year – 2001, 2002, 2005. USA Water Polo Development Coach of the Year 2004. Silver Level Coaching status by USA Water polo in 2004. USA Water Polo Ted Newland Award in 2010 & 2012. USA Water Polo Coach of the Month – March 2012. In 2011, Rick received the C.I.F. LIFE PASS for Meritorious Service to C.I.F. Central Section.
Rick has coached various high-level teams that include:
USA Water Polo Zone 8 Boy’s Head Coach Cal State Games 1992 & 1993.
USA Water Polo Zone 8 Boy’s Youth Team Head Coach 1999 – 2001.
USA Water Polo Zone 8 Boy’s Development Team Head Coach 2002 – 2004.
Central Valley Water Polo Club’s Men’s Premier Team Head Coach 2004 – 2008.
In 2010, Rick returned to coaching for the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program. He served as the head coach for our zone at all three levels (Cadet, Development, Youth) till 2015. In 2017, Rick was asked to join the Fresno Pacific University Men’s Water Polo Team coaching staff as an assistant. In addition to in-season responsibilities, Rick ran the off-season training (Spring and Summer) till 2019 for Head Coach Bryan Suhovy.
